Tottenham striker Giovani Dos Santos is hoping his future will be resolved over the course of the next week.
The Mexican international has endured a torrid time in North London since his move to White Hart Lane back in 2008.
Sevilla have been credited with a long-term interest in the 22-year-old, who spent time on loan with Spanish outfit Racing Santander last season.
And the Spanish side, now managed by former Santander coach Marcelino Garcia Toral, are aiming to bring Dos Santos to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, provided a fee can be agreed between both parties.
“I want to play in Sevilla. It is my main preference and this possibility exists but the subject is still not closed,” he told Spanish website El Desmarque.
“I am still in London but Tottenham desire my sale. My agent is working hard and I hope for a solution next week.
“I prefer La Liga to other countries. I was happy with Marcelino in Santander and it will be sensational to repeat the experience with Sevilla – one of the best European clubs.
“To play next to Frederic Kanoute would be a pleasure.”
Dos Santos, formerly of Catalan giants Barcelona, has also spent time on loan with Ipswich Town and Galatasaray during his time with Spurs
