Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar is reportedly on the verge of securing a move to Premier League rivals Sunderland.
Kranjcar saw his first team chances limited last season and started only two Premiership fixtures, with a further 11 from the bench.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce made his interest in Kranjcar aware last week and is keen to add the Croatian international to his squad despite making 10 signings already this summer.
And the players’ representative, Adrian Aljai, believes a move away from White Hart Lane is the best option for his client.
“We are about to close a deal with Sunderland,” Aljai was quoted by the Daily Express.
“I believe that is the best solution for Niko.”
It remains to be seen whether the move will be on loan or permanent for the 27-year-old, who joined Spurs two-years ago from Portsmouth.
