Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers and Tottenham’s Andre Villas-Boas are ready to fight it out to snap up Queens Park Rangersforward Loic Remy.
The Frenchman arrived at Loftus Road in January for a fee of £8m but his five goals in eleven games have not been enough to keep the club in the Premier League next season.
Spurs chief AVB has expressed his admiration for some time now and must have been rubbing his hands in delight when it was announced that the Rs would be a Championship club next year, increasing his chances of securing a deal for Remy.
However, he faces stern competition from Rodgers who is said to already be preparing to trigger the striker’s £5m release clause in his contract. Rodgers is on the hunt for added firepower to his frontline as Luis Suarez’s future is uncertain and Andy Carroll is likely to be flogged in the summer.
Whenever there is a Frenchman for sale Arsene Wenger’s old ears always prop up, and this time is no different. The Arsenal boss is keen to make the versatile frontman an offer to join his roster at the Emirates when the season comes to a close, but Liverpool are still thought to be in the driving seat.
Life is seemingly sweet for Loic Remy.
