Tottenham travel to the Etihad to face a Manchester City side looking for some revenge for the earlier loss by the second placed side in the league. Spurs have a chance of closing the gap on Leicester City and a win coupled with a loss for the Foxes could see them really in the run for the Premier League title.
Tottenham have been impressive this season and certainly will be looking to continue their great run with their stars Dele Alli and Harry Kane. Mauricio Pochettino could be looking to play a similar team that defeated Manchester City early on in the season but the Argentine would have to be wary of the mindset of City who had lost to Leicester last week.
We look ahead to this clash and predict the starting lineup for the Spurs.
Hugo Lloris
The French goalkeeper is the number one at Tottenham and should start without a question against City.
Ben Davies
Davies might not have been a regular starter for the team but he should keep his place after a good display against Watford.
Kevin Wimmer
Wimmer was another brilliant player who was brought into the team despite not having played many minutes this season.
Toby Alderweireld
Without Vertonghen he is the leader in the defence and has performed admirably, he would have to be at his best to keep Aguero and company quiet.
Keiran Trippier
Trippier scored the winning goal against Watford last time around and he should keep his place in the team.
Eric Dier
Eric Dier’s stock is growing as the season progresses and the young English midfielder certainly is one of the best players in his position at the moment.
Mousa Dembele
Mousa Dembele might be under threat from some of the youngsters but he certainly is someone who gives Tottenham a bit of bite in midfield.
Nacer Chadli
The Belgian attacker would have to be at his best as he looks to stamp his authority against Manchester City in an important clash.
Christian Eriksen
Eriksen might not be starring as much as some of the other Tottenham players but he still is an important cog for the team and should start against City.
Dele Alli
Alli didn’t get to start against Watford but he should get a start in this game as he looks to win Spurs all the three points.
Harry Kane
Who else to lead the lineup other than Kane? The English striker will be looking to score once again against Manchester City and push Spurs forward.
