Both Arsenal and Tottenham suffered midweek defeats, Tottenham played poorly but credit must also go to their hosts who played superbly and were desperate for a win. The gunners are without a win in four games and have won only two of their last eight. Once again they seem to have fallen apart at the very time composure is needed. Tottenhams defeat on the other hand came after a run of six continuous wins and have lost only 4 times this season. Arsenal’s form going into this North London derby seems poor, they have almost forgotten how to score.

Arsenal are without key players like koscielny and Cech, their replacements do not inspire much confidence, especially David ospina. Tottenham seem a better team with a stronger mentality, but one thing guaranteed with Arsenal is an entertaining match. Arsenal seem just the team to lose to sides they should be rolling over and then winning against Europe’s elite, they have done it in the past.

There are no stats to prove it, but it seems like they are due for another miracle. Losing against Manchester United’s Youth team and Swansea’s second string team will provide just the impetus to Arsenal to take on the surprise title contenders Tottenham.

Tottenham are a team filled with youth and exuberance, they will be aided by the White Hart Lane crowd as spurs finally have a team that they have faith in and can maintain a standard of performance for the long run.

Arsenal have big names who are having a run of poor form but are waiting to fire, one thing Arsene Wenger knows from all his experience is how to beat Tottenham, he’s the guy who understands the importance of this derby and what it means to the fans. Arsene Wenger has lived this rivalry longer than Mauricio Pochettino.

This match has now gained more importance, as this isn’t just a fight for North London supremacy but for the English premier league championship.

Arsenal may have not won the premier league title since 2004, but they are no strangers to titles, winning 2 FA cups on the trot. Spurs on the other hand have until this season been fighting for a place in the champions league. Hence it is impossible to predict the result of this fiery clash as it is more than just two teams on paper taking each other on, but history and ambition playing on the minds of both teams.

The only thing we can be certain of is an entertaining match that will be a pivotal point in both the teams’ title ambition. Expect nothing else than a mouth watering fixture between two teams that believe in playing with style.
