Spurs might not have been the team that many would have put their money on at the start of the season for the championship but Mauricio Pochettino has certainly produced a great team that is playing attractive football.
There are a number of players who have put in incredible performances this season and serves as a barometer for the future seasons under the Argentine manager. Tottenham are a young and dynamic team that will get better if they stick together.
They have the ability and technique to do some great things with the ball and for a bit of fun we pick out the players who could feature for Tottenham if they played in a five-a-side tournament.
Hugo Lloris
The five-a-side team needs a goalkeeper and who else but the French international Hugo Lloris. His decision to stay with Tottenham at the start of the season is paying off and the team have relied on his excellent reflexes to keep them in big games.
Lloris would be a perfect goalkeeper for a five-a-side game. He has great distribution and is not the worst with the ball at his feet either.
Jan Vertonghen
You do need a defender or as they call it in this game an enforcer and Vertonghen can easily be the ball playing defender that Tottenham could use. The absence of the defender has really hurt Tottenham in the second half of the season but he could make a return before the Euros.
Vertonghen has been one of the most improved defenders this season and would be exceptional in a five-a-side game.
Mousa Dembele
Another Belgian in the side but this time as someone who can deal with the opposition really well while also joining the attack when needed. Mousa Dembele might not have been the number one choice for the job at the start of the campaign but he has gotten better and is an integral part of the team.
Christian Eriksen
You would need someone who is going to produce moments of magic and help in the scoring, this is what the Dane Eriksen brings to the side. The attacking midfielder has quick feet and an eye for scoring as well, something that would be great in this version of the game.
Eriksen would be the assist provider but who would be the scorer? Well, we all might know the answer to that.
Harry Kane
Could it be anyone else taking up the scoring job apart from the English striker? Kane is the top scorer for the Premier League side and has 22 in the league this season. He is the top scorer in the league as well, not bad for someone who came into the limelight last season.
Kane has a bit of pace about him as well and is great with his finishing, certainly a great option for the smaller version of the game.
