Tottenham had a great season but missed out on the Premier League and ultimately finished third. Mauricio Pochettino’s side now have to think about the Champions League, which was the target all season long last time and the one thing that the Argentine would be looking to do is to get a lot of cover for their players.
Tottenham do not have the biggest side in the Premier League and they would need cover for some of their best players as well. One area which was a problem last season was the midfield. Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele were brilliant but with the Belgian suspended for a few games next season, Spurs would need to bring in some quality.
One player who has been linked with a move to the Premier League is Marcelo Brozovic. The 23-year-old Inter Milan midfielder would be a perfect addition to any Premier League side and with Inter Milan not playing Champions League football, the Croatian could be on his way out from the Italian side.
Brozovic can play in a range of positions starting from the right wing to the centre of midfield and it is in the latter position where he shines more often than not. The Croatian played 30 games for Inter Milan last season and scored seven goals.
Brozovic is known for his ability to pass and that would be great for Spurs as he tries to link up with Harry Kane and Dele Alli. The 23-year-old is also someone who can hold the ball really well and is great in his defensive duties as well. The Inter Milan star is great with his set piece delivery and that again would be a big bonus for the side when he combines with Eriksen to handle dead ball situations.
Mauricio Pochettino might still need some talent in the side and Brozovic would provide a bagful of it. He seems perfectly set up for the Tottenham side that relies so much on their midfielders, Inter Milan on their part wouldn’t want to let go of one of their best players so easily. Tottenham would have to spend a huge amount to get the 23-year-old in.
Next season could be extremely important for the London side and the faster they wrap up such deals for big players the better it will be. Brozovic is part of the Euro 2016 side and will look to impress one and all as he also tries to make a big move to enjoy Champions League football next season.
