After a brilliant season which saw the Lilywhites mount a title challenge after decades and that too with such a young side, especially the England players who now will play a huge role in the Euros for the three lions. Credit must be given to Mauricio Pochettino as against all odds, he guided the team to a Champions League place after 6 long years. The future is bright for Tottenham as a good understanding between Pochettino and Daniel Levy will result in a successful partnership.
One of the main reasons for an impressive season will be the injury free period for the impact players who always performed in the big games. That includes the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane and the England International in particular was deservedly the winner of the golden boot with 25 goals this campaign which dismissed all the trash talk of Kane being a one season wonder.
With Champions League due in September, Spurs have to increase the squad number to challenge on all fronts and to keep the players fresh at all instances. One area which requires an immediate backup is in the striking department. Harry Kane has been instrumental but a striker is needed to share the load with the Englishman as his fitness and form will be at test at the highest level in the Champions League next season.
Kane will benefit from a strike partner too and if the reported targets are being scouted, Spurs can have a lethal partnership at the front to challenge for a top spot again. Let’s take a look at the three strikers who can support Kane in the all important season with Champions League football.
1. Saido Berahino:
The 22 year old has been looking for a move away from the Hawthorns since last campaign and this season showed his unprofessional side by refusing to train with the squad when he was refused to move after a bid had been placed by Spurs. Berahino has been once again linked with a Spurs move and there is no denying the fact that the English man is one exciting talent that can work for both Spurs and England.
2. Vincent Janssen:
The AZ Alkmaar striker has been in scintillating form this campaign and had Netherlands been in the Euros, Janssen would have been the one to watch out for. His style of play has been compared to Ruud Van Nistelrooy and can be a brilliant backup for Harry Kane, who can become a perfect signing for the Club.
3. Breel Embolo:
The young Swiss striker has been linked to the club since the last couple of Windows and the 19 year old has taken the Swiss League by storm. Scouted by almost all the big clubs, it will be a big coup if Daniel Levy could persuade the tall, imposing striker with blistering pace to work his trade at the White Hart Lane.
