After a wonderful campaign under the Argentine manager Mouricio Pochettino, the London side Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to build on the form to challenge for the title next season. The Argentine gaffer has a tough task ahead of his career as his team will be battling in the UEFA Champions League and therefore, he will have to find the players, who could guide the current squad in the competition.
It is obvious that very few players in the current squad have the European experience, and that is the reason, they might fall apart if they don’t sign the players. To be very honest, the manager needs to add numbers in the squad to avoid fatigue. It’s a good thing that the manager has already started working on the project and has identified many top names in his list.
Very recently, it is reported that the London side are preparing a bid for the French striker Alexandre Lacazette to complement Harry Kane, because let’s face it, he cannot compete in every game for the side and besides him, the team doesn’t have any concrete option either. Addition in the midfield is also necessary as several of their midfielders are still young and might not perform on the European stage to the proper extent.
Very recently, it is being reported that Tottenham Hotpsur are looking to sign the Croatian maestro, Milan Badelj, who has just completed his second stint with the Italian side Fiorentina. The 27-year-old usually plays as a defensive midfielder, but also as a central midfielder. Badelj’s agent has revealed that the player might consider a move to the Premier League if a concrete offer is received.
Here, we will lineup the Tottenham’s squad for the next season including the Croatian maestro, Milan Badelj:
Between the sticks, no one can replace the French shot stopper Hugo Lloris. The 29-year-old French international kept 13 clean sheets last season and gave a wonderful display of his abilities. There is no doubt that Lloris will be the first choice keeper for Pochettino in the league as well as in the Champions League.
The right back position will surely be occupied by the English international Kyle Walker. The 26-year-old was the pre wall in Tottenham’s defence and did nothing wrong in the entire season. He won 56% of duels in the league last season, and therefore, he will surely retain his position next season.
The Belgian duo; Jan Vertonghen and Toby Aldeweireld were one of the best centre back pairings in the league last term and therefore, the Argentine will be looking to continue with the same pair next season.
On the left hand side, the 25-year-old English international Danny Rose might retain his position. The little Englishman was exceptional last season and was very effective in his defensive skills as well.
The defensive midfield area will surely be fulfilled by the Englishman, Eric Dier, who missed just a single game last season. He was brilliant in his passing and did a fantastic job in defending the lines for the team.
The major advantage of playing a 4-2-3-1 formation is; you get an extra midfielder, who is given a much needed space in the midfield. And Milan Badelj could easily fit in that role. Badelj is excellent in his passing and besides that, the Croatian is capable of creating some threatening chances for the side. He could be a perfect partner for Dier in place of Dembele in the central area as his quick brain could easily unlock the gaps in the opposition’s defence.
Dele Alli will surely play an important role for Pochettino next season. The 20-year-old scored 10 goals and bagged 9 assists to his names last season and gave a wonderful display of his footballing character. The young gun is full of energy and has all the traits of being a world class figure in the future. Playing as an attacking midfielder, the former MK Dons’ man can easily haunt the opponent with his blistering pace.
The unsung hero of the Tottenham squad is a pure gem. His work on the field is next to magic and will surely be playing an important role in Tottenham’s European participation. The Danish international created 114 chances for the team last season in which 13 were converted into the back of the net. His passing and his work rate is the main reason why he is an important player for the team.
On the right hand side, the Argentine international Erik Lamela is most likely to take the position. The 24-year-old is known for his speed and his on the ball techniques, and we are pretty sure that he could replicate his form next season.
There is no doubt that Pochettino will use the 22-year-old English international Harry Kane. Well, Tottenham does not have other options in the position besides Kane, and therefore, the Englishman will lead the line for the Lilly-Whites.
