With a third position finish in last season’s Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be battling with the top guns of Europe in the UEFA Champions League.

The Lilly-Whites really gave Leicester City a run for their money, but it was really sad to see them finishing third after spending a great season. Players like Eric Dier, Dele Alli got their breakthrough under the Argentine gaffer and every single player pushed the team forward in the league. Now with Champions League’s card on their side, their manager will have to work on his players’ mental stress. There is no doubt that the players will be getting tired after playing the midweek games, and to avoid that, the Argentine will have to add some names to the squad.

The entire squad will be looking forward to replicate the same form next season, but the arrival of Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, and Jose Mourinho might make their task difficult. As stated above, Pochettino will be looking to add some experienced players into the squad, so here, we give you those three names, who Tottenham should look to sign-

  1. Franco Vazquez-

The 27-year-old Italian midfielder currently plays for Palermo, and if the rumours are to be believed, then the Lilly-Whites are currently chasing the attacker for a potential move. He joined Palermo back in 2011 and was brought to replace the Argentine winger Javier Pastore, who moved to the French side PSG.

Vazquez is a quick and agile personnel and is usually known for his incredible work rate. He doesn’t possess a blistering pace, but due to his incredible vision, he could split the opponent’s defence with a single pass. Last season with Palermo, he made 36 appearances, scored 8 goals and bagged 7 assists. It is understood that Tottenham cannot rely on Alli for every game, and to give him a rest, Vazquez will be the best option.

  1. Davy Klaassen-

The 23-year-old Dutch international isn’t the most followed personality in the sport, but is doing wonders in the Dutch league. He started his career with Ajax and has recently completed his 5th  season with the legendary Dutch club. He had a tough start to his career, but eventually, he became the prominent figure for the side.

Klaassen has the required experience of playing at the top level, and besides that, due to his age, he could be a long-term solution for the team. Klaassen too is an attacking midfielder, but due to his versatility, he could be used as a central midfielder and as a second striker. He has represented Netherlands at every level and has scored 35 goals during his five years of tenure. He made 31 appearances for the side last season, scoring 13 goals and 8 assists.

  1. Skhodran Mustafi-

The 24-year-old German centre-half is currently playing for the Spanish side Valencia, and might come at handy for the Lilly-Whites. Mustafi might be looking to leave the side as Valencia will be without the Champions League football, and  Tottenham should start the negotiation as soon as possible.

The German international could operate the game as a centre-back and could also be used as a defensive midfielder and will surely benefit the Argentine manager. He is an absolute defender, who loves to engage himself in the tackles and could become a great partner for Alderweireld. He made 30 appearances for Valencia last season, scored 2 goals and won 53% of his duels and averaged 11 defensive actions per game.
