Tottenham Hotspur have been doing a very cautious business in the transfer market this season as they have only signed two players till date. Now, according to the reports from England, Tottenham are edging closer to sign the 21-year-old Marseille winger Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, but the deal has been stuck as the French side are now demanding an exchange deal, as they want Tottenham’s Clinton N’Jie on loan.
And right at this very moment, the reports have claimed that the Lilly-Whites have agreed to the speculation and the deal will be finalized shortly. So far, Tottenham have signed the Kenyan international Victor Wanyama and Dutch international Vincent Janssen, but we feel that they still need an attacking midfielder, who can drive the team forward when required.
Now, the recent rumours from England are suggesting that Tottenham are currently chasing Sporting Braga midfielder Rafa Silva. The same source has stated that the player has gained a concrete interest from the Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg and FC Porto, but the player himself wants to play in the Premier League, hence a move to the White Hart Lane could be on the cards.
Rafa Silva is surely a guest name for most of the Premier League followers, hence, we give you a complete detail of the player:
Who is Rafa Silva?
The 23-year-old Portuguese midfielder started his footballing career with F.C. Alverca, a club from Lisbon, and at the age of 18, he moved to C.D. Feirense. He spent one complete season with the club and made 47 appearances for them, scoring 11 goals, before moving to the fellow Portuguese side FC Braga in 2013.
In his very first season with the Portuguese club, the midfielder made 32 appearances in all competition and scored 9 goals. In the following season, the midfielder cemented his spot in the starting lineup for the team and started all the games but one game. He recently concluded his third season with the side and in the 2015-16 campaign, the 23-year-old made 50 appearances, and scored 12 goals.
Style Of Play:
Rafa Silva is one of the most versatile players in the industry and is mostly known for his clinical passing skills and also due to his finishing. The player is capable of delivering some extraordinary defence splitting passes that could easily benefit any team in the world, and if the team has the finishers like Kane and Janssen, then there is nothing to worry about.
Rafa can easily operate the game from the central area, i.e, central midfield and attacking midfield, while, on the other hand, he is equally at home when deployed on the wings. The 23-year-old is one of the most matured players in the sport and that allows him to control the tempo of the game. Of course, he will have to struggle a bit in his initial stages, but he could cement his place in the squad eventually.
He surely will be a big gamble for the Lilly-Whites, but given his record of progressing on a high note, there is no chance that the player will dip in his form, and under the manager like Mauricio Pochettino, only good things will happen. There is no doubt that the 23-year-old possesses a top class flair, and given his Champions League experience, he will only add more value to the team.
