Tottenham picked up their second win in the Premier League thanks to a 4-0 hammering of Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. Son Heung-min was the star of the show as he got the ball rolling with two goals.
Dele Alli scored the third thanks to a cross from Kyle Walker and Harry Kane scored his first goal in nine games to complete the rout. Tottenham moved up to eight points and into the top four.
Spurs were great value for the win and this should give them the confidence of doing well in the current campaign. We look back at a brilliant performance and provide the player ratings for Tottenham.
Hugo Lloris – 6/10
The French goalkeeper didn’t really have a lot to do. Stoke did have a few attempts on goal but they barely threatened the Tottenham star.
Kyle Walker – 7/10
A decent enough outing by the Englishman as he ended the game with a big hand to play in the goals for Tottenham.
Toby Alderweireld – 7/10
The Belgian defender didn’t really have a lot to do and will hope for similar matches this season.
Jan Vertonghen – 7/10
Jan Vertonghen also had an easy outing at the Britannia and it really was an easy day at Stoke for the Tottenham defence.
Ben Davies – 7/10
Another player who had an easy game as Stoke City really did not provide a threat to Lloris and company.
Eric Dier – 6/10
The Englishman had a decent battle in midfield with Imbula but again had very little to do in terms of protecting his defence.
Victor Wanyama – 5/10
The Kenyan didn’t have the greatest game but wasn’t really tested a lot either. Wanyama was substituted with Erik Lamela.
Christian Eriksen – 8/10
The Dane finally came to the Premier League party and had a great game. Eriksen tormented the Stoke defence and also had an assist to his name at the Britannia.
Dele Alli – 8/10
Dele Alli might have had a slow start to the season but his goal ensured that Stoke had no chance of making a comeback at all.
Son Heung-min – 9/10
Questions had been asked about the quality of the South Korean but in this kind of form, he is irresistible. Two goals should give him a lot of confidence for the remaining games.
Harry Kane – 7/10
The goal drought is over! Kane finally found the back of the net and this could be the start of a great goal scoring run again.
Substitutes
Erik Lamela – 6/10
The Argentine came on early in the second half and had a few good moments on the ball.
Vincent Janssen – 5/10
Janssen still does not look ready for the Premier League but playing in a finished game like this gave him more minutes under his belt.
Moussa Sissoko – 6/10
The £30 million man was brought on late in the second half but didn’t really have much to do.
