Tottenham have been linked with numerous names in the last few weeks, and it seems certain that Mauricio Pochettino will strengthen his squad come January. After the brilliant start to the 2016-17 season made by the club, bringing in some fresh faces in January could potentially be a decisive factor when it comes to winning or just challenging for the Premier League. Towards the end of last season, Spurs looked jaded and devoid of ideas.
Real Madrid midfielder Isco is reportedly one of the main transfer targets for Spurs in January and besides him, the club are also looking at options like Galatasaray winger Bruma. The 21-year-old is valued in the region of £20 million and he is thought to be unhappy at the Turkish outfit. Known for his skills and pace, the winger has the ability to lighten up any game. Even at just 21 years of age, he has already collected a string of titles.
Spurs will have to compete with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, as both the Premier League giants have also been keeping tabs on the player. It is not surprising that United and Chelsea also want to sign him. Bruma has made a fantastic start to the season with two goals and three assists in just six league outings. He has been named as the man of the match in three of the six games, which shows the scale of impact he has had in Turkish football. The Premier League is of a much higher standard, but Bruma does have the skills and quality required to excel.
After having failed to extract any performance out of summer signing Vincent Janssen, the club are under pressure to find a goal scoring alternative to the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Bruma is an attractive prospect by the fact that he is against signing a new contract with Galatasaray. The winger moved to the Turkish club for around € 10 million back in 2013. After spending the last two seasons on loan at Gaziantepspor and Real Sociedad, he has been able to make his presence felt in the Galatasaray team only now. So far, his best season with the Turkish outfit was in the 2014-15 season when he made 33 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals.
The player’s contract runs out in the summer of 2018, thus forcing Galatasaray into making a decision. The club would rather sell the player for a sizeable transfer fee in January than lose him for nothing in another 18 months. They may come in with an improved wage offer in order to persuade Bruma to stay at the Türk Telekom Arena, the probability of the same now looks difficult with the player being made aware of the interest from top clubs.
