Tottenham completed their Champions League journey with a 3-1 win over Russian side CSKA Moscow and ensured their passage into the Europa League. This was Tottenham’s first win at Wembley this season, after a run of poor results earlier in the group stages of the competition.
The win also meant that Tottenham entered the Europa League at some stage, something that they have done for the past seven years. It was Moscow that opened the scoring through Alan Dzagoev but Spurs rallied and levelled through Dele Alli in the 38th minute.
Harry Kane then gave the home side the lead just before half-time and the points were sealed when CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev bundled the ball into his own net after a Dele Alli header.
It might have been a disappointing campaign for Tottenham in the Champions League but they still will continue their journey in the secondary competition. The winners of the Europa League get direct entry into the Champions League and that is something which could make a number of clubs take the competition seriously.

Tottenham are definitely going to draw Schalke in the Europa League and get knocked out by a late Nabil Bentaleb goal. It’s the only way.
