Tottenham fans have something to cheer about as their season gets back on track. While they are getting the right things done on the field, they are pulling a few deals off behind the scenes as well. One of their most important players for a number of years, Hugo Lloris, has penned a new deal which keeps him at the club till 2022.
The 29-year-old French international is one of the best players in the league and is considered to be one of the best keepers in the world. It is a great coup from Tottenham to keep hold of Lloris and it speaks volumes about their ability in getting the deals done.
Tottenham took to Twitter to show that they had tied down their captain for a long time and even Lloris was incredibly happy with the new deal. The Frenchman will earn £100,000-a-week until 2022 (via Dailymail)

Lloris had joined Tottenham from Lyon and has not looked back. It was certainly a great deal back then in 2012 and goalkeepers normally get better with age. The French captain was looking ahead to his best years ahead with the London club.

Tottenham getting right deals done
Lloris might be one major piece of the puzzle but Tottenham have been getting the deals done regarding their current players. Michel Vorm, Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen have all signed new deals that will keep them at the club for a foreseeable future.
This also is a good sign seeing that key personnel are being tied down to long contracts which would keep many other top clubs away from making bids or at least would have to make enormous bids to get them.
Lloris was a target for Manchester United during the phase where it seemed they would lose David de Gea to Real Madrid. But now it seems he isn’t going anywhere and will call White Hart Lane “home” for a few more years.
Credit must be given to Mauricio Pochettino also, and it seems he is creating something special at the London club.
