Tottenham Winger Set To Complete Move To New Side After Transfer Window Closes

The transfer window is one of those aspects of football that many seem to hate and an equal amount seems to love as well. While clubs scramble to bring in quality during the short and often turgid January window, there are a few that complete deals way past the 31st deadline.

One such player that can be using a minor loophole to get a deal done is Tottenham’s Nathan Oduwa. While the youngster isn’t the biggest name in the Tottenham ranks, it certainly is a smart move as he seems to be looking for regular football.

The winger is being linked with a move to Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia according to football.London and the only reason this could be done is due to the fact that the transfer window in that country closes on February 15th.

Oduwa has represented the English national side in the U17, U18 and U20 level but last year he switched to play for the Nigerian national team. The 20-year-old left-sided attacker hasn’t played too many games for the senior side and maybe a move away will help him claim a spot in the starting XI.

The winger joined Tottenham when he was just 11 and had a number of loan spells including time at Luton Town, Colchester United, Peterborough United and Rangers too.

Sadly, he could never turn any of those moves to a permanent one and failed to impress regularly for the sides. His time at Tottenham certainly seemed to be coming to an end as Mauricio Pochettino gave chances to other players in the side and Oduwa seems to have picked up the message.

It is also being reported that the 20-year-old has already joined his new side in Turkey as they prepare a training camp, even though the deal between the two sides has not been completed yet.

What is surprising is that Oduwa is willing to move to a club that isn’t at the highest level and is willing to try out his luck in a different league where the temperature and playing surface will certainly ask questions about his talent and ability.

We have seen a number of players actually do well in the other not so big leagues in the continent and if Oduwa can live up to his expectations when he first joined the Tottenham side, he could be coming back to a bigger club with the belief that he can perform on the biggest stage.
