Tottenham To Take Advantage Of The Relegation Situation To Sign This Ex-Manchester United Winger

Tottenham will attempt to sign Wilfried Zaha in the summer, according to Express. Last summer, Crystal Palace chairman described the £12 million launched by Spurs as ridiculous. But reportedly, Pochettino is still an admirer of Zaha and a bid could be on the cards this summer.

Now that Crystal Palace are fighting relegation, it will make things easy for Tottenham if Palace fail to stay in the top flight. Zaha might well be tempted to join the Lilywhites given that Champions League football arrives at White Hart Lane.

Wilfried Zaha has been considered one of the most talented players in the current generation of English footballers but has so far failed to live up to his potential. He was developing well until Manchester United offer came along and things changed quickly. He became less confident and struggled to find his feet at Old Trafford and it took a while to recover from his disaster spell at United.

However, Pochettino is determined to get Zaha at the end of the season, irrespective of whether Palace stay in Premier League or not.

Crystal Palace value Zaha around £25 million which Spurs clearly do not agree with. Zaha signed a 5-year contract with Crystal Palace when he joined them from Manchester United. However, Express claim that sources close to the player say he feels summer might be the right time to move on from Selhurst Park.

Zaha might be a smart buy from Spurs’ perspective as they look to bolster their attack this summer. After the failure of Moussa Sissoko, it is important that Tottenham take good care about their next transfer target. It is also safe to say they don’t gamble big in the next transfer window and approach it in a way how Arsene Wenger usually does. It needs to be ensured that they spend little and buy a great talent.

A transfer similar to Arsenal signing Mohammed Elneny would be a welcome move. Over the years, Arsenal have done some shrewd business. Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud arrived for cheap prices and have gone on to grow huge. It would be wise for Tottenham to follow their North London rivals and do some good business in the transfer market.

With the development of Harry Winks and Harry Kane, Spurs can also start looking for academy stars to make a jump to the firs team.

We’ll have to wait to see if Palace decide to ease the price on Zaha. However, it would be a gamble for Tottenham to sign a player like Wilfried and it would be safe for them to not spend too much on the player.
