Tottenham and Liverpool are two teams with most number of points gained from losing positions, with 14 points taken by each team by virtue of comebacks.

Liverpool played Burnley on Sunday and it was Burnley who took the lead after some brilliant piece of football. However, Liverpool were not to be deterred as they showed heart and courage to stage a comeback, courtesy, Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can.

Emre Can scored an absolutely stunning goal to give Liverpool the lead and eventually help the Reds to 3 points. Wijnaldum, meanwhile, continued his rich vein of form and showed it once again when he finished from close range to level things up for Klopp’s team.

Spurs last staged a comeback when they faced Manchester City at The Etihad Stadium on January 21, 2017, when the put on an impressive performance to come back from 2-0 down to 2-2 in what was a brilliant response from a team challenging for the title.

This season so far, Tottenham and Liverpool have taken 14 points each after being in a losing position.

Liverpool have shown plenty of heart this season, having come from behind to earn a point against runaway leaders Chelsea and victories at home to Stoke and away at Swansea after conceding first.

Their most spectacular comeback arrived during their first game of the season when they stormed back to beat Arsenal 4-3 at the Emirates after falling behind to a Theo Walcott strike.
Spurs, meanwhile, began their season with a draw away at Everton after Ross Barkley had opened the scoring for the hosts.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side also showed their resilience by recovering from Virgil van Dijk’s second-minute goal to thrash Southampton 4-1 at St Mary’s in late December.

The Toffees, who are at third when it comes to points gained from losing positions, made their most memorable fight back against Arsenal in December when goals from Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams meant Alexis Sanchez’s deflected opener counted for nothing at Goodison Park.  They have 13 points from losing positions.

West Brom (11 points) and Chelsea (10) have also shown their battling qualities this season, with Antonio Conte’s men earning a late win at Watford in August with two goals in the last 10 minutes at Vicarage Road.

This stat highlights the quality and mentality of Tottenham this season under Pochettino and they have done remarkably well in challenging for the title in the last two seasons. With the club making giant progress off the pitch, it looks like progress on the pitch is commendable too.

Way to go Tottenham!
