Tottenham have been suggested to sign former striker Dimitar Berbatov on a free transfer after Harry Kane suffered an ankle injury against Millwall.

Just 10 minutes into the FA Cup quarterfinal tie between Tottenham Hotspur and Millwall, Harry Kane was substituted off the pitch for Christian Eriksen. This left the fans worrying and the club have not yet revealed the extent of the injury. However, it is feared that his season might be over after all, according to the Guardian. He left White Hart Lane on crutches with his right foot in a protective boot.
Pochettino said he was worried that the damage would prove similar to the one that Kane suffered against Sunderland last September. Back then, scans revealed a ligament issue and he was out for seven weeks. On Sunday, Kane fell down awkwardly after a challenge from the Millwall defender, Jake Cooper, early on and he could not continue after treatment.
Speaking after the match, the gaffer said:
“It’s the same ankle as before in the Sunderland game. Now it’s a matter of waiting. We will assess it tomorrow and, after tomorrow, we will see what happens. It’s difficult.
It looks a similar situation to Sunderland. It was a similar action. It’s sure it will be difficult for him to play against Southampton on Sunday but we need to wait now and see what happens.
However, he rallied the rest of the squad to keep up the performances and added that they cannot allow Kane’s injury to hamper their ambitions. He said:
“Harry was in the boot afterwards because in a situation like this, the doctor is cautious. Before a scan, the doctor tries to immobilise the joint, with a boot and crutches – to try to avoid any [further] problems.
Harry is our main striker, one of the best in England, but we can’t cry about it now. We have enough players to try and replace him. It won’t be an excuse if we don’t win or achieve our aims because Harry is not in the team.”
This surely is a huge blow for Tottenham considering that Harry Kane is easily one of the most dangerous strikers in the league right now. However, one of the Spurs fans had a brilliant idea and he told BBC that Tottenham must consider signing Berbatov on a free-transfer! Yes, you read that right!

Vincent Janssen has clearly struggled to settle in and it would be a huge risk to depend totally on the Dutchman alone, to replace Harry Kane.
Should Pochettino consider Dimitar Berbatov?
