Tottenham Hotspur seemed to suffer a major blow when striker Harry Kane limped off from the game against Millwall during the weekend. The striker seemed to have suffered a recurrence of the ankle injury that kept him out of action for around two months in the first-half of the campaign.

The 23-year old missed 5 league games as a result of this injury. While fans feared the worst, latest scans have revealed that the extent of the injury isn’t as bad as initially feared. Still, it is serious enough to keep him out of the first team for around a month.
The Premier League top scorer is however expected to miss Tottenham’s FA Cup semifinals against Chelsea towards the end of April. The last time the two clubs met each other in the competition goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard contributed towards a 5-1 success for the West London outfit.
The league title race may be realistically over, but Tottenham are still involved in the race to finish in the top four. According to reports from the Daily Express, Kane could be set for a return in the game against Arsenal. Incidentally, the striker made his return to first-team football against the Gunners the last time he suffered an ankle injury earlier this season. Despite having been out for a long period, Kane came back with a bang scoring a goal in the 1-1 draw against their derby rivals. Spurs could be set for a similar kind of extravagant return for the player, who will be sorely missed over the next month.
The 23-year-old has been in excellent form since the turn of the year. The likes of Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez were amongst the top scorers in the league at the turn of the year, but Kane has managed to overtake those players having hit great form in the last three months. The England international has now scored 19 goals in 22 league games. His goals have been a major factor behind Tottenham rediscovering their winning form and also stay ahead of the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for the top four.
Thankfully, the blow has been softened by the fact that international break takes up around two weeks. Spurs take on Arsenal on April 30th.
