Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly after Croatian ace Marcelo Brozovic in the summer. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Brozovic is being lined up by Tottenham and a potential transfer could be on the cards in the summer.
Brozovic is highly rated and represented Croatia National Team alongside former Tottenham star, Luka Modric at the Euro 2016 tournament.
He currently plays for Inter Milan and Spurs have identified him as their midfield target, amidst growing concerns about the quality backup available in the central midfield department.
Youth product Harry Winks has stepped up when required and has looked lively whenever he has been on the pitch. Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama have forged a great partnership in the centre of the park and it is a good sign for the club. However, in the case of injuries to either Dembele or Wanyama or maybe even both (touchwood), they would be light on numbers and this would be worrying Mauricio Pochettino for sure.
Brozovic has scored 5 goals and has provided 4 assists in 21 appearances and is important to the Inter Milan team. He would be worthy enough to compete for a place in the line-up with Wanyama and Dembele, and hence it would be a wise move from the Spurs manager.
The report also claims Tottenham are willing to commit €25 million in an attempt to land him, and it is expected to be an amount which Inter Milan would accept.
The Croatian signed for Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 but has found it tricky to make his mark on a consistent basis, due to the numerous managerial changes at the Italian club during his time.
Brozovic signed a new deal with Inter back in December, committing to the club until 2021, but is yet to score a Serie A goal since then.
However, the 24-year old is a talent to reckon with and would surely add quality to the Spurs squad. Whether or not he would feature regularly is a different question altogether but the fact that he is a talented player would make Pochettino think twice before benching the player after buying him.
Do you think Marcelo Brozovic would be a good signing for Tottenham?
