Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe has been brilliant for his side this season and has attracted interest from all over Europe. The French starlet has seen a phenomenal rise and has scored 19 goals and 11 assists in 32 appearances. The numbers are wonderful, considering the fact that he is just 18-years old.
Reports emerged earlier that a lot of top clubs from all over the world are interested in signing Mbappe, including Tottenham and Arsenal.
However, the French forward insists he is remaining ‘very calm’ about the reported interest as well as dismissing the idea that his performances have been extraordinary.
Mbappe continued his brilliant form with another man-of-the-match display, scoring two goals and winning a penalty in his side’s 3-0 victory over Caen on Sunday. He was quoted by Daily Mail:
“I would not say that what I do is extraordinary. I would just say that I am able to do what I know best. I would not say it’s extraordinary. Extraordinary is a player who can score 60 goals. There are not a lot.
“Otherwise, I think we would overuse the term. I would not say it’s amazing but I’m on a good run. Sorry, but I do not look at what the English press say.
“I remain very calm about the attention I get. I get up in the morning and I go to practice like everyone else. I try to work to improve myself every day and I try to do on the pitch what I do during the training sessions.”
Kylian Mbappe is the hottest youth player in Europe right now and he has been exceptional this season. He is showing maturity beyond his age and is tipped to become world-class. However, he will find it difficult to replicate his form next season and that is a hurdle that he has to overcome in order to succeed on the big stage.
A move to England might be a step too soon for the young lad and it would be better for him to continue his development at Monaco, under a manager who trusts him and backs him.
However, from Tottenham’s perspective, it would be better if they spend their money in the summer of 2017 as they will be entering their new stadium at the start of 2018/19 campaign. It could become difficult for them to spend once they move, due to the financial constraints and it would be smart for the club to try and convince the youngster to move this summer.
