Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has been linked with a move to Manchester City according to the latest reports and it appears as though Tottenham have to face off some competition if they are to land the Crystal Palace wide man.
Tottenham were linked with a £25 million move for Zaha earlier and now it appears as though they may have to go for a war with one of the strongest clubs in England if they are to achieve their target.
Zaha sizzled in Palace’s win over Chelsea this midweek and has been the brightest spot for Crystal Palace in what has been a disappointing campaign for the Eagles.
The Ex-Manchester United flop took a huge blow when he left Crystal Palace to join United and it has now taken him some time to find his rhythm. A move to a big club proved to be a step too much for Zaha. And Pep Guardiola is not really known to be a good man manager and hence a move to Manchester City would be a huge risk considering the player’s past adventures.
He struggled under David Moyes and completely lost confidence in himself after his spell at Old Trafford. At this stage of his career, it is probably a manager like Mauricio Pochettino what he needs to excel in his career and take that next step forward.
Zaha is now matured and has learned to cope with failures and hence if he is given some confidence and backing, he would turn into an excellent player. Pochettino is the man who is capable of doing that and not Pep Guardiola.
Also, the competition for places at Man City would be really high and Zaha would get less amount of playing time at Etihad than at White Hart Lane. At this point in his career, he would benefit by playing more.
Tottenham’s deadline day signing Moussa Sissoko has failed spectacularly and for sure, Mauricio Pochettino will be disappointed with his performances. A lot was expected of him and he hasn’t managed to live up to the expectations. Hence, it is safe to say that there is a need for some quality attackers at Tottenham than at Manchester City.
Zaha would do well by choosing Tottenham over Manchester City if the situation arises and he has some thinking to do so at the end of the season. That’s for sure!
