Tottenham continued their chase for the Premier League crown with a convincing 4-0 win over Bournemouth at White Hart Lane.
Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele and Vincent Janssen got on the score sheet in a dominant display and helped Tottenham register their seventh consecutive win in the Premier League.
The victory was also their 15th win at home and 11th clean sheet of the season. Spurs did close the gap to Chelsea to four points but the Blues have a game in hand on their London rivals.
There were a number of stars for the Lilywhites at the Lane and we share the player ratings from the game.
Hugo Lloris – 8/10
The Tottenham captain didn’t really have a lot to do in the game and had just one notable save to speak off. A decent day at the office for the Frenchman.
Kyle Walker – 7.5/10
The right-back was his normal self as he probed the Bournemouth defence on a number of times. He wasn’t tested all that much by Eddie Howe’s men and will expect tougher challengers in the days to come.
Toby Alderweireld – 7/10
Another player who had an easy day at the office, Alderweireld was great at organising the defence with his countryman beside him.
Jan Vertonghen – 8/10
Vertonghen was excellent with his passing and even though he was another player not tested in defence, the Belgian didn’t put a foot wrong in the game.
Ben Davies – 7.5/10
Davies wasn’t tested all that much by the Bournemouth attack and had a lot of freedom to join the Spurs attack during the game.
Eric Dier – 8/10
Dier was given a chance to shine in midfield and shine he did. He was all over the Bournemouth midfield and helped create the goal for Son by getting the ball off Jack Wilshere, which would have pleased the fans.
Mousa Dembele – 10/10
It’s rare for someone to get a perfect score but Dembele had the best game in a Spurs jersey in a while. He started the scoring from a corner and had a number of chances to extend the lead. Dembele was excellent with his passing as well and didn’t put a foot wrong in the game.
Christian Eriksen – 7/10
The only reason Eriksen didn’t get a higher rating is due to the fact he couldn’t score a goal. The Dane was brilliant with his passing and movement and only lacked the killer touch to cap off a brilliant game.
Dele Alli – 7/10
The Englishman had a rather quiet game against the Cherries but even though he didn’t score, he had a decent game without making major mistakes.
Son Heung-min – 9/10
The South Korean scored in his fourth consecutive game and was one of the best attackers on the pitch for Spurs.
Harry Kane – 9/10
Kane had a wonderful game for Tottenham as he created the goal for Son and added to the scoring with his own effort. He does seem to be a little rusty at times but surely he is set to be at his best in a week or two.
Substitutes:
Victor Wanyama – 6/10
Wanyama didn’t really have a lot to do in the game with the match already won but he was decent in his defensive role.
Moussa Sissoko – 6/10
Sissoko tried his best but couldn’t match the performances of some of the other players in the game.
Vincent Janssen – 8/10
Janssen might have been on the pitch for a few minutes but he did score his first goal from open play for Tottenham.
