It is still alive! Tottenham beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park by a 1-0 margin, thanks to Christian Eriksen’s goal. The win sees Tottenham move to 74 points, 4 behind 1st placed Chelsea, who earlier beat Southampton to go 7 clear until Spurs’ win last night.
With a finish above Arsenal all but guaranteed, Tottenham will be fully focused on catching Chelsea in the title race. There is still every chance of Spurs catching the Blues and it is set to be a nail-biting finish to the Premier League season.
The game against Arsenal coming weekend will be crucial and the North London derby has never been such a crucial encounter in recent years, as the result of the game will mean a lot to both the teams. While Tottenham’s title hopes rest on the result of the NLD, Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top-4 depends on it as well.
So far, things are going perfectly well in the league race and it was important that the team did not let the FA Cup loss against Chelsea affect their performance last night. It was a huge relief when Eriksen scored the winner in the 78th minute and this should be enough to enter the derby game with head held high.
A victory against Arsenal will ensure a finish above them for the first time since 1995. It would be wonderful to do that at White Hart Lane.
The fans seem delighted with the result against Crystal Palace, and it showed when they took Twitter to express their relief at grabbing the win against the Eagles, who were on a giant-killing spree before coming into the game. They had beaten Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea in a run that saw them win 6 out of 7 games. It looked like they were going to spoil Tottenham’s title hopes but somehow, the game ended in Spurs’ favour.
We managed to gather few tweets from the fans and put it together. It’s game on in the title race!
Tbh we got lucky Sakho got injured.
