Tottenham’s loss at the hands of Chelsea did lead to a number of devastated fans but it seems a few took things too far. A Spurs fan was left with serious injuries after the FA Cup loss after another Tottenham fan mistook him for being a Chelsea supporter.

Goal claims that Michael Voller was attacked by the Tottenham fan after the game and the injured fan was left with a broken eye socket, cheekbone and skull.

The attack on Voller took place on Engineers Way at around 7:30 PM outside the Moore Spice Restaurant. Voller was identified by a group of Tottenham fans who were coming in from the opposite direction.

Detective Constable James Robb, of Brent CID, the investigating officer, said:

“This was a violent and unprovoked assault that has left a young man with some terrible injuries that could end up affecting him for the rest of his life. “

The officer also added that such incidents have no place in football and appealed for fans to share any information that they might have on the attacker.

“This kind of violence has absolutely no place at a football match, and I sincerely hope that those who were with the person responsible do the right thing by Michael, who is a fellow supporter and has supported Tottenham since he was a young boy.

“I’d appeal to all Spurs fans to think hard about whether they have any information about the person who did this.

“I’ve no doubt that there will be several people who know who did this and I would appeal to anyone with information to get in touch with us or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.”

Voller has been discharged from hospital but there are fears that there could be permanent damage to the Tottenham supporter’s eyesight.

Hopefully, the attacker will be apprehended soon and Voller will make a quick recovery and be back to supporting his club.
