Tottenham will lose out on the services of Josh Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters as the duo has been called up for the U20 World Cup in South Korea by the England U-20 side.
England will face Argentina on 20 May before taking on Guinea and South Korea as they close out Group A on 26 May.
What this means is that the duo will not be playing any further part in the Premier League campaign for the Lilywhites as they, with the rest of the England squad, look to win the U-20 World Cup title.
Onomah had a bright start to the campaign at the start of the season but he hasn’t featured all that much for Pochettino. The England midfielder did score his first goal for the club in an EFL Cup game against Gillingham but that is as good as it has gotten for the U20 player.
Walker-Peters hasn’t played for the first team yet but he has been training with the main squad for a while. The Englishman was on the bench for the FA Cup game against Aston Villa but didn’t get a chance to come onto the pitch.
As reported by Football London, the England team will meet up at St George’s Park before they head off to Osaka, Japan on Tuesday. The team will have a six day training camp in Japan before they head off for the tournament in South Korea.
There are a number of players who have not been given permission to join the national side due to club commitments such as Patrick Roberts of Celtic, Axel Tuanzebe of Manchester United and Izzy Brown of Huddersfield Town.
Mauricio Pochettino is willing to let go of his two youngsters as Tottenham have more or less clinched the second spot in the league and this will also give the players a lot of game time in a prestigious tournament.
