Tottenham continued to track Patrik Schick of Sampdoria over the weekend as our scout was spotted at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris stadium. The 21-year-old forward was part of the Samp team that drew 1-1 with Chievo Verona according to reports from Tutto Mercato Web.

Spurs were playing the final game at White Hart Lane as we defeated Manchester United 2-1 on Sunday but it seems we are already planning to bring in the Czech Republic forward in the upcoming season.

The forward has scored 11 goals in 30 Serie A games, though 18 of those appearances were as a substitute. Schick has been linked with a move away from Sampdoria for a number of weeks now and Tottenham are one of the clubs leading the chase to sign him up. The young forward is touted for big things in the future and it isn’t a surprise seeing Borussia Dortmund being linked with a move for Schick.

Patrik Schick

Tottenham and Dortmund both have young and upcoming teams in their respective leagues and have dynamic managers to boot. Dortmund also had sent out a scout to see how well the Czech star plays for the team.

Schick only joined the Serie A club in the summer from Sparta Prague and is reportedly under contract till 2020. The player also has a release clause of €25 million inserted into his contract, which certainly is a good bit of money to spend in the summer.

Spurs might be looking at a replacement for Vincent Janssen, who has struggled to make a real impact in London this season. With us returning to Champions League football in the upcoming campaign, signing a quality cover, who can score goals, for Harry Kane is paramount if we are to progress beyond the group stage.

Schick does have a lot of potential to grow and get better but it will be interesting to see if we do end up signing him.
