Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is ready to hand Filip Lesniak one last opportunity to impress in the Spurs set-up as per reports from Sky Sports. The player is out of contract in the summer and it is widely expected that he will not stay at the club beyond the season. However, the club have just jetted to Hong Kong in order to play post-season friendly matches in the highly lucrative Asian region. After featuring on the bench in the last two games of the season, Lesniak was out of opportunities in order to make an impression.

The 21-year-old returned to the club after a short loan spell at Slovan Liberec. The Czech Republic club managed to utilise the player in a handful of games before Spurs had him back for the first-team training in the final few weeks. It appears that manager Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed with his quality on the training ground. This has not yet translated into performances on the pitch. Filip Lesniak came on as a substitute and set up a goal for Harry Kane in the 6-1 victory over Leicester City. This performance, however, was not enough to see him make an appearance in the final game of the season against Hull City.

Tottenham will be involved in a friendly game against Kitchee SC before the team heads out for a well-deserved break. Spurs do not return to action until the International Champions Cup Club friendly games that begin towards the end of July. Even though clubs will be able to sign Lesniak as of now, the player has been unable to come to a contract agreement with any club due to his lack of exposure. Spurs still have an opportunity to retain the player, but that will depend on the player’s performance in the friendly game against Kitchee on Friday.

Considering that the player will be under a tremendous amount of pressure coming into the game, it remains to be seen if Pochettino will make an informed decision based on just one game.

Spurs are expected to strengthen heavily in the summer transfer window as we will be going through yet another campaign of Champions League football. After achieving back-to-back top-four finishes, the main priority for the club will be to finish next campaign with a major trophy to show for.
