Kyle Walker shows Tottenham roots as he takes a dig at Arsenal

Another day and another rumour of Kyle Walker leaving the club, this time around, it is the Englishman who has fuelled the speculation of a move away from Spurs.

The 26-year-old has had a bit of a fall out with Mauricio Pochettino and didn’t feature in the final few games of the season with the boss playing Kieran Trippier as the right-back.

Now, Walker posted a mosaic on Instagram thanking the fans for the support this season but it does seem slightly sneaky and many believe that the Englishman is sending a final message to us before he makes a move away to another club.

The 26-year-old has become one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is great when it comes to joining the attack as well. It isn’t a surprise that many top clubs want to bring him over but Manchester City seems to be right on the top of the list of suitors.

Pep Guardiola is masterminding a massive clear out (Guardian) at the Etihad and his requirement of English players has seen the club linked with multiple players from Spurs. Even Danny Rose has been a subject of a move to City.

Losing Walker would be a huge blow for us, and it would hurt a lot more if he does join one of our title rivals. However, this seems nothing less than a message of thanks to the fans after an impressive season where we just missed out on the title.

Our Verdict

Walker and Trippier playing on a rotation basis would be great next season as we would be playing in the Champions League once again. With both players in the form of their lives, we wouldn’t be in a position to actually worry about this position next season.

We all wish that Walker does stay at the club and with the side playing great football; it doesn’t really make a lot of sense for Walker to leave now.

Do you think Walker will leave?
