Tottenham Hotspur announced the extension of the club’s contract with sponsors AIA and revealed that the official partnership between the two concerns has been extended until 2021/22. Club chairman Daniel Levy announced the same in a press conference ahead of Tottenham’s friendly against Kitchee FC.
The new deal will see us get an increase to the current £16million that we are earning annually. Talking to the press shortly after the deal was signed, Levy told (Evening Standard);
“The renewed partnership with AIA comes at a significant time in the club’s history, with a new world-class stadium currently under construction. We will look to further support the objectives of both organisations in the Asia-Pacific region.”
With the new stadium move all set to happen, the move seems to be a good one. However, the fans were not happy with the Red logo of the company and suggested that Tottenham rather switched alliances to some other sponsor, pointing out to the club’s famed “Never red” policy. This is mainly because the colour red is associated with the other North London club we hate.
The fans responded to the announcement on Twitter and expressed their opinion regarding the same. We managed to gather few tweets and put them together to make a reading.
