Sky Sports Pundit Tips Tottenham To Sign A Striker Better Than Vincent Janssen’s Quality And Advices On Walker’s Situation

Kyle Walker of Tottenham

Ah! There’s so much talk about us in the media these days, isn’t it? Every one of them seems to have an opinion about the current Tottenham team and while some of them make sense, some of them are utter non-sense. The latest person to give his verdict on what Tottenham should do this summer is Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier, who is now a Sky Sports pundit.

Tissier believes that we need a better striker than Vincent Janssen to be Harry Kane’s backup, but admits that it would be difficult to find a player of such quality and convince him to play second fiddle.

He also commented on Kyle Walker’s situation at the club, stating that Tottenham need to cash in on the English full-back, as he is at the peak of his powers.

Tissier was quoted by Sky Sports as saying;

“I would suggest that they need somebody a little bit closer to Harry Kane’s standard as a back up, rather than Vincent Janssen, but the challenge is finding somebody who will be happy to play second fiddle. I quite like Spurs’ midfield and I don’t see too much improvement being made their, with good options throughout.”

“If they can keep hold of their full-backs then they’re all good in that department, but I think it will be difficult for Kyle Walker to stay if the offer is astronomical and I think it would be tough for Spurs to turn down as well given Kieren Trippier’s form.”

He feels that Kyle Walker would command a big transfer fee and it is best that we replace him this summer. Tissier also said that he’d like Tottenham to keep the team together as the side is capable of challenging for the league title.

“Walker is decent but at 27 it is the right time to cash in on him as his value will start to plummet and we know Spurs like to get top dollar, so Spurs will probably need to go out and replace him. I really would like to see that team kept together otherwise because it is a side which can capable of fighting for the title again.”

Tissier is probably right. This team of ours is capable of challenging for the title and it is important that Pochettino keeps the players together. However, Kyle Walker seems to be unsettled. But that doesn’t mean that we are under pressure to sell him as his contract runs until 2021. It wouldn’t be wise on Walker’s part to go on a war with the club as it would affect his career. He is now England’s first choice right-back and is the best one in the country.

Hopefully, the club and the player arrive at a positive conclusion regarding the issue. What’s your take on kyle Walker?
