Tottenham Are Among Several Clubs Chasing £30m Liverpool Target From Serie A

published :

The chase for one of Europe’s brightest wingers is certainly on as Tottenham are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Lazio winger Keita Balde. The Mirror claims that the 22-year-old is a target for Tottenham, and also Merseyside rivals, Everton and Liverpool. Balde is reportedly rated at £30million, can play across the front line but he is best when used as a wide player.

Last season, he scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 31 Serie A games and was a standout player for the Italian side. While Lazio wouldn’t want to sell him, given his potential, it is being reported that the 22-year-old has rejected a new contract at the club and that only means he wants a move away.

While we are interested in bringing in more attacking options ahead of next season, Balde would certainly fit the bill for a player that can turn things around.

The Senegalese winger is known for his dribbling ability and is great when playing in teams optimising a counter-attacking philosophy. Balde was heavily linked with a move to the Reds but we could sneak in and get the deal done should we match Lazio’s asking price.

The report also claims that Balde wants a move to Serie A champions Juventus. That would ensure he picks up an Italian league title next season but Lazio might want to sell one of their stars to a non-Italian club, just to ensure a rival side doesn’t get one up on them.

We certainly are a little shorthanded when it comes to attacking players as Mousa Sissoko. With Champions League and English cup games ahead of us next season, quality cover for our squad has to be a priority for Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy.

Talented, quick, and with an eye for goal, Balde has the ingredients to succeed in the Premier League but only time will tell if he does move from Italy to England or stay in the Serie A.
