Conflicting Reports Emerge As Tottenham Are Once Again Linked With Former Liverpool Flop

published :

AC Milan winger Suso could be one of the most heavily linked players with Tottenham in recent times. Rumours linking him with a move to Spurs have been going on for several years, and it had been expected that of our scouting network has moved beyond Suso at this point. Yet, Spanish tablet Marca reports that manager Mauricio Pochettino has renewed his interest in Suso with a view of completing the transfer in this window.

Suso is one of the top names at AC Milan but he is widely expected to leave the Italian club in this summer. After receiving substantial investments from the Chinese consortium, Milan will be undertaking rapid changes in terms of the playing squad with several big-money signings coming to the club. This would force many of the existing stars at Milan, as they pay the price for a mediocre domestic campaign. The club failed to finish in the top three places of the Italian Serie A which would have given them Champions League football or at least a top five position to qualify for the Europa League.

Since Milan do not have any form of European football for the upcoming campaign, the club are keen on improving the quality on almost every front, so as to be able to challenge for the European spots in the coming season.

Spurs are very keen on strengthening the squad in almost every area of the pitch. Apart from having to deal with the rigours of playing in Europe and two other cup competitions apart from the Premier League, Spurs also have the added weight of having to win a trophy in order to continue the progress. Pochettino is aware that he needs to significantly bolster his ranks so as to be competitive in all the competitions. Apart from having to bring in players to strengthen the squad, Spurs will also have to find replacements for the likes of Vincent Janssen, Moussa Sissoko, and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

The trio came to the club last summer and have been a huge disappointment so far. Meanwhile, Suso is no stranger to the English Premier League after having been with Liverpool for a couple of years before moving to Milan in the summer of 2015 for around £1 million. While his signing did not go well initially, Suso made 34 appearances in the league last season. He came up with impressive statistics of seven goals and nine assists in these matches.
