While Tottenham haven’t really been in the market for new players, we are certainly keeping hold of our prized assets by tying them down with long-term contracts.
Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen are some of the players that have pledged their future to the club for a number of years already and a rising star from last season is on the verge of doing the same.
The Telegraph reports that we are set to offer right-back Kieran Trippier a five-year deal after he took over from Kyle Walker towards the fag end of last season. Walker could be on his way out from the club but we seem to be placed really well with the 26-year-old former Burnley man. He did take over from Kyle during the last few games of the season and impressed us all. Trippier even made his England debut in the 3-2 loss against France recently and he could become a stalwart for us in the years to come.
Even the supporters seemed pretty pleased with the reports of Trippier signing a long-term deal with the club and took to Twitter to celebrate Trippier’s quality.
YEEEEESSSSSSUUUUUR!!

Don’t get the Kyle Walker love. He’s not even the best RB at Spurs, Trippier is, which is presumably why Poch isn’t fending off interest.

why do spurs need to replace Kyle Walker is he goes to City? I think Trippier is class. #Spurs

Despite only starting 12 Premier League games Kieran Trippier had joint most assists in the Premier League for defenders with Kyle Walker. pic.twitter.com/ORFPnHGJtx

It will be interesting to see just what happens with Trippier and Walker prior to the start of next season but for now, we do have two of the best right-backs in the Premier League. And if they stay at the club, things will certainly spice up for a place in the starting XI.
