‘Sprinkling some L’s to Arsenal’ – Twitter Explodes As Tottenham Edge Closer To First Summer Signing

Juan Marcos Foyth

Tottenham Hotspur have been so quiet this summer. The fans, however, may get something to celebrate as a report from Sky Sport’s Lyall Thomas has just quoted that the Lilywhites are close to completing a £8 million deal for Argentina U-20 international Juan Marcos Foyth, whose representatives are already in a negotiation with Tottenham.

Should the transfer go through, the 19-year-old centre-back is widely tipped to join Tottenham’s reserve squad and will have to progress eventually to earn his place in Pochettino’s first team. Don’t expect him to come and make an immediate impact as he is still a brewing product and needs a fine polishing. He has been rated highly by the manager he has worked with and Mauricio Pochettino certainly has looked at Foyth as a long-term investment.

These sure aren’t just the rumours as the player himself admitted that his representatives are negotiating a deal with the Londoners.

“Truthfully, I don’t know. I heard they’re negotiating with Tottenham. But the truth is, I don’t know how far they’re going to go and if I’m finally transferred. I don’t ask a lot and I don’t want to know too much,” Foyth said in a post match interview with La Dia, a La Plata newspaper.

Having said that, Tottenham fans are having mixed opinions about the young Argentinian and this is how they are reacting to the news! Read on.
