Tottenham Enter The Race To Sign €25m Manchester United Target To Replace Kyle Walker

Serge Aurier

Serge Aurier is a wanted man according to ESPN and is willing to leave Paris Saint-Germain for regular football. The 24-year-old has had a bit of a hit and miss love affair with the French club and is now looking at options in England and Italy.

The report claims that manager Unai Emery has stated to the Ivorian that Thomas Meunier is ahead of the 24-year-old in the pecking order in Paris. With Dani Alves also joining the Ligue1 giants, there will not be many chances for Aurier to show his talent next season.

Manchester United, AC Milan, Juventus and Tottenham are looking to add Aurier to their ranks and there is a need for us to get some right-back options since we have sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

While Aurier is gifted and is great in attack, there is a major worry regarding a court case against the Ivorian pending in the UK. The 24-year-old had apparently attacked a police officer last year and the defender was barred from entering the UK and couldn’t even face Arsenal in the Champions League last season.

The report further adds that PSG will be looking for offers close to €25million for Aurier and there will be a bit of a battle to get him into our team given that Jose Mourinho wants to reunite Paul Pogba with his friend Aurier.

Should the court case be dealt with quickly and if Aurier avoids jail time, a move for the 24-year-old wouldn’t be the worst option for us and will also provide a lot of competition to Kieran Trippier. The Ivorian played just 22 Ligue1 games last season and provided 3 assists for the French giants.

It has been a frustrating transfer window for us this season as we haven’t brought in any players and are in fact looking to sell rather than add to the side. Aurier might be a bit of an unpredictable character but on his day he can be trouble for most oppositions and that is exactly what Poch and the rest of us would expect from him should we sign him up.
