Tottenham haven’t added any new faces to their side this season and that is a bit of a risk taken by Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy. However, that has not stopped us from getting linked to a number of players and the latest one is French forward Yann Karamoh.
The 19-year-old is attracting a lot of interest from a number of clubs according to the Sun, even though the striker didn’t score a lot of goals for Caen last season. Karamoh played in 35 Ligue1 games last season and only found the back of the net 5 times, which will be a worry for any side purchasing him.
The report from the Sun also adds that Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, Fiorentina and Inter Milan are tracking the the French forward and the 19-year-old is valued at around £9million. There is a problem with his current contract with Caen too as he only has 12 months left on it. That could be a reason why there are so many clubs looking to add the youngster to their squad.
The French striker might not be a household name like some of his countrymen but he does have a raw edge to his play and we have seen Poch mould our current crop of stars into some of the best in the country. Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier fall under this group and it would not be a surprise if Karamoh can be turned into a lethal striker or at least an effective player for us should we sign him up.
It isn’t guaranteed that the youngster would start games for us but his development would be taken care of under a better environment at Tottenham. We also don’t have enough quality strikers in our side and simply depending on Vincent Janssen would be a major mistake going into this season.
The Dutch striker struggled for goals last time around and not having a fallback option would be criminal on our part. With Champions League games once again in our schedule, having a Plan C would not be the worst option in the world and for £9million, Karamoh could be our next Alli.
