Tottenham have completed the signing of 19-year-old Juan Foyth from Estudiantes, the club have officially confirmed. The defender has penned down a five-year deal with the Lilywhites.
Tottenham faced some tough competition from Paris Saint-Germain throughout their pursuit and the French giants even tried luring him by offering Estudiantes more money, but the defender himself was keen on moving to London to work under Mauricio Pochettino, as he believed he would get more opportunities under the Argentine.
Having already acquired Davinson Sanchez for a club-record fee, Foyth has become the club’s third signing. Furthermore, they are also closing in to sign Serge Aurier after reportedly agreeing a fee with PSG for the right-back. To add further ecstasy to it, the Ivorian has been given the work permit as well (Independent). It is now just a matter of hours before Aurier becomes Tottenham’s fourth signing.

Speaking of Foyth, Tottenham, in an official statement, said:
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Juan Foyth from Estudiantes. The 19-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Club until 2022.”
Soon after completing his move, Foyth said:
“I really like this club. I’ve always followed it since I was a boy. I really like the league, too, and now I’m going to try to make the most of this opportunity. It’s a club that believes in young players and I’m very pleased to be here.
“I know the Club has great history and is one of the biggest clubs in England. I’m very happy to be here, it’s a dream for me. I also know that many young players are in the team at the moment. I think there’s a wonderful project here.”
