Dele Alli is one of the best players in the Premier League, not only at the moment, but ever since he made a move to Tottenham. The 21-year-old assisted in the 3-2 win over West Ham United on Saturday amidst claims that he is willing to leave us in search of a bigger club.
The Sunday Mirror claims that Alli is a wanted man after he severed ties with his long-time representatives, ‘Sports Management’.
The report claims that Mino Raiola, who deals with Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Jorge Mendes, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent are trying to sign Alli up as their client.
The duo also are claiming that they can crack a deal to take the 21-year-old to either Real Madrid or Manchester United and help the Englishman earn a bucket load at either club.
Tottenham are adamant that they are not letting Alli leave the club and have already started negotiations for a new deal but things could turn sour really quickly.
Money is the major factor in the negotiations
It always boils down to that, money. We have been adamant with our wage structure with not many players earning more than £100,000 a week. Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are a couple of players on that elite list, but Alli reportedly earns about half of that and even if we are to negotiate a new deal, he would only be able to match Kane’s salary as our best paid player.
Should Alli harbour for a move away from the club, he would easily earn double what he earns at Tottenham and if he does move to Real, it could be even more than that. The only way we can keep hold of the 21-year-old is if we pick up trophies and keep playing good football.
We seem to be getting back on track in the Premier League and have started our Champions League group stage journey well and we have to keep playing in that same vein of form to achieve success in this campaign.
The next summer could be a major one for us as we have to keep hold of not only Alli but also Kane and a number of clubs would be looking to pry out stars away from the club.
