“It’s not the last goal” – Tottenham Star Serves Warning After Breaking Goal-Scoring Record

Christian Eriksen has been one of our best signings in recent years and the Dane was at it again, this time against West Ham United, with a goal in the 3-2 win over the Hammers. The 25-year-old broke a record in the win on Saturday as he became the highest scoring Danish footballer in the Premier League.

Eriksen has scored 33 goals since moving from Ajax at the start of the 2013-14 season and the Dane was happy picking up the record. The player he toppled was Arsenal ‘legend’ Nicklas Bendtner and the former Ajax man was quoted by the Express as saying:

“Of course I’m very happy I’m above Bendtner now.

“I’ve moved him to the side and of course it’s not the last goal.”

That will come as a bit of a relief to many Spurs fans as Eriksen has been rumoured to be on the wish list of Barcelona. The Dane might need to increase his goal-scoring exploits and it does seem that he wants to do more in the final third this season.

Eriksen also shared his views on the win against the Hammers, which was made a lot more difficult after the sending off of Serge Aurier. We had to dig deep into our reserves and face an onslaught from the Hammers but we held on for the win.

“It looks easy when you are 3-0 up but when you have 10 men and they score they get a lot of confidence,” added Eriksen.

“They want to go forward, they have the eagerness to win the second ball, more than we did at some times.

“It was a difficult game and we made it difficult.”

The Dane scored 12 goals in all competitions for us last season, which matched his best return in front of goal which was in the 2014-15 season. Eriksen still has a lot of potential and could turn out to be one of the best players in the world.

Barcelona certainly have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old but if Eriksen plays to his potential and puts in a number of great performances, he could be another player that we will have to work hard to keep in the side.

Eriksen, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been the three players that have made us into title contenders, at least on the offensive end and it is imperative that we have to keep them for the upcoming years.
