When the Champions League groups were announced by UEFA, it looked like Tottenham were in for a world of hurt as they were pipped against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Memories or nightmares from the last campaign would have come flooding back and not many would have expected Spurs to be in the driving seat after a couple of games.
Yet, here we are, Spurs were excellent in their opener against Dortmund and followed that up with a resounding 3-0 win away from home against APOEL Nicosia.
Harry Kane was at his best again, after his showing against West Ham where he scored a brace. The Englishman fired in a hat-trick against the side from Cyprus and kept us level on points with Real Madrid with a maximum of 6 from 2 games.
The scoreline though, didn’t tell the entire story as the home side did put up a fight. But some slack defending on a couple of occasions was enough for our hitman to punish APOEL.
The next Champions League clash will be against Real Madrid and that will be a match to savour. This would be a barometer of how much we have progressed under Mauricio Pochettino.
For now, our fans are revelling on a great start to our European journey and here are some of the best reactions on Twitter, as the fans were celebrating the team’s performance and Harry’s hat-trick.
Great performance tonight Harry scores just for fun haha ⚽️⚽️⚽️ #COYS
