Another game, another brace for Harry Kane! He just cannot stop scoring, can he?
Tottenham eased past Huddersfield Town, who were yet to lose a game prior to this game at their home this season, by a comfortable 4-0 margin, courtesy a double from Harry Kane, a goal from Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko. The first goal came in as early as the ninth minute when Kieran Trippier’s long header released Kane to go head to head with Jonas Loessl, and the 24-year-old slotted the ball into the bottom right corner.
Tottenham didn’t have to wait long for the second goal. Seven minutes after the first, Ben Davies’ sleek finish beat Lossl. After a smooth beating of the Terriers’ defenders, Kane hit a stunning left-footed strike which ended up into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
Dele Alli struck the post after a perfect team work split Huddersfield apart, while for the hosts, Laurent Depoitre faced the similar fate when attempting a long ranger. As the game approached its final 15 minutes, Pochettino decided to throw Moussa Sissoko on the field and Frenchman’s wait for his first Tottenham goal finally came to end after he converted a Ben Davies’ pass from close range to heap further misery on the home team.
Speaking about the performance, Pochettino said that his team deserved the victory and praised his men for an amazing performance.
“We deserved the victory. We were better. Until today they only conceded three goals and we scored four. I speak very highly about my team, we dominated the game. I am so happy with everyone because we played Champions League in Cyprus, arrived late and came here and showed energy. It was a fantastic performance for us.”
