England might have booked their place for the FIFA World Cup in Russia after a 1-0 win over Slovenia but questions still remain about just how good they can be in the tournament.
The Three Lions laboured to the win, despite fielding a near first-team, with Harry Kane getting the only goal of the game.
Wembley wasn’t filled to capacity and even though the fans tried to cheer the team on, it seemed like the side was disjointed and they never really were able to click into gear.
It wasn’t a surprise that many England fans turned on the players, especially on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but a few had a pop at Eric Dier too.
The Tottenham star wasn’t the worst player out there and did a decent enough job but the lack of creativity was a problem for many. Fans took to Twitter to have a pop at the midfielder and here are some of the reactions from the social networking site.

Dier/Henderson pivot. That's championship level in terms of organization skills.

The lack of creativity, vision and limited passing range in the Henderson and Dier midfield axis, is the major downfall of this England team

While it is a little harsh to blame only Dier for the performance, it must be said that the Englishman has also often played as a centre-back and maybe that could have been a better option for Gareth Southgate.
Dier, like most of the English players, needs some more time to learn under Southgate but the former Middlesbrough manager has to turn things around quickly if the English side are to achieve something worthy in Russia.
