Mauricio Pochettino does have a penchant of working well with youngsters and churning out talent on a regular basis. Tottenham and Southampton have been producing a number of quality players through their academies in recent years and another player could be on the verge of joining our academy in the future.
Harvey Neville, who plays for Valencia, is being touted as a player who will return to his homeland of England according to the Spanish outlet Super Deporte.
For those who are wondering if he is related to the Manchester United pair of Gary and Phil Neville, you are not far off, as the youngster is the son of Phil.
Gary and Phil had taken up various jobs at Valencia during their tenure in La Liga but the junior Neville remained at Los Che. However, he could be on his way to England now. It would not be a surprise to hear that Manchester United are also interested in Neville, who is just 14 years old.
The youngster does have a lot going for him and his crossing ability has been compared to that of David Beckham’s, and that could be one reason why both clubs are looking to sign him up.
Tottenham – A Breeding Ground For English Talent
What Southampton was at one time, Tottenham are following the same trend, as Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and even Dele Alli have become regulars for the English national side. Kyle Walker might have moved to Manchester City but he still is the player that we helped grow, through the years.
Pochettino has already unearthed a few gems in Josh Onomah, Kyle Walker-Peters and Harry Winks. Neville is still extremely young and will develop more as the years go by and working with the Argentine would be the perfect option for him.
We are extremely lucky to have Pochettino as our manager and we really cannot complain with the academy players that have come through the system. Now, the only thing we need to get is a trophy or two under our belt and that would certainly be one of Poch’s crowning achievements.
