In what should be good news for all Tottenham fans, Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly prioritising a move for Chelsea star instead of Tottenham playmaker.
It had been reported earlier in the summer that Real Madrid could go ahead and make an effort to sign Dele Alli, although the England international is happy with his stay in North London.
However, Madrid are long-term admirers of Chelsea winger Eden Hazard and latest reports from Spanish website Don Balon (h/t Football London) indicate that they would try and sign the Belgian in the summer.
Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is an admirer of Hazard, who tops his wish list and wants the club to make a move next summer.
There are reports that Madrid may lose the services of Welsh superstar Gareth Bale who is struggling to establish himself in the first-team plans of Zidane. Although Bale has indicated a number of times that he is happy and settled in the Spanish capital, there are indications that he could seek a move out of the club next summer.
Madrid were also interested in Alli after following the consistent displays of the England international midfielder for the past couple of seasons. The midfielder is on the verge of changing agents and there are indications that super agents Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola were vying for his attention.
Both of them have links with Madrid and have reportedly indicated that a move to the Spanish capital with big bucks as wages is possible.
Whether it materialises or not is an entirely different matter but interest from Madrid is always unsettling for a player. Thankfully, it now looks like they have shifted their attention to Hazard.
The Belgian playmaker is a key player for the Blues who would definitely offer him fresh terms and an increased wage package to keep him satisfied. As a Spurs fan, I hope that Madrid’s interest sways Hazard and he makes a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. A cheeky, but effective way of making sure Alli stays at our club!
