Harry Kane is having the time of his life thanks to another terrific performance against one of the bigger sides in England. The striker scored a brace and was a pest for the Liverpool defence in their 4-1 win at Wembley.
Kane also setup the second goal for Son Heung-Min and was responsible for the third which was scored by Dele Alli. The Englishman has been stated for a big money move away from our side and has been linked with Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants have been consistently looking for a quality replacement for Karim Benzema and there were reports of a massive swap deal invoving the two but now the president of the Spanish club has come out and stated that they are not looking at Kane.
Speaking to Cadena COPE, Florentino Perez was quoted by Spurs Web as saying:
“Signing Harry Kane has not passed through my head. He is a great player and in addition he is young.”
Perez also added that there isn’t going to be a swap deal given that the side is happy with their striking options.
“He has many years to progress, but we are delighted with [Karim] Benzema and with all of the team.”
The one shocking statement from Perez was the valuation of Kane, which would have broken the transfer record held by Neymar.
“I didn’t ask Tottenham’s president for the price because he would have told me that he is worth €250m.”
While it will come as some relief that Kane is not a target for the Spanish side, it is only a matter of time before official bids come in for the reigning Golden Boot winner. Kane has only been getting better with each game under his belt and he played a great game in the 1-1 draw against Madrid a week ago.
He did have a great chance to win the game but was denied superbly by Keylor Navas and that performance would have endeared him a bit more to the Spanish fans.
However, the England international has time and again stated that he sees his future at Tottenham and a move to Madrid is definitely not on the cards.
We have one of the best and youngest sides in England and it should only get better this season. Our next Premier League game against Manchester United would be another chance for Kane to shine and if he can bag a couple of goals, we could be set for a magical run to battle Manchester City for the title.
