Tottenham Interested In Signing U-17 German Starlet With 12 Goals In World Cup And European Championship Combined

Tottenham are ready to splash the cash on one of Germany’s rising strikers, Jann-Fiete Arp. The Daily Mail reports that the 17-year-old has become a target for Spurs and a host of other clubs, thanks to his performances for the U17 German side in the World Cup and European Championship.

Arp had scored 12 goals in both the competitions combined and also broke into the Hamburg senior side. He has scored 2 goals in 3 games.

The report also claims that some top clubs such as Juventus are looking at the German striker while our London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping track of the 17-year-old’s progress.

Arp also became the youngest scorer for Hamburg thanks to his exploits this season and it doesn’t come as a surprise that he is trying to stay grounded given his career in senior football has just started.

“I have a huge chance here and I’m really happy to be an integral part of the Bundesliga squad,” said Arp, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“The hype is honestly a bit scary to me. At the moment, I just want to focus on football.”

The report also claims that Arp has modelled his playing style on Harry Kane and that might be some good news if we are trying to sign the German. Tottenham would be facing a lot of competition for Arp but given that we have one of the best coaches in the world, we just might have an edge on some of the other teams.

For now, Arp is a young player who needs the right guidance and we are the club that can provide it, at least in England. Mauricio Pochettino is known to give young players a chance to prove themselves and that should be playing on the mind of Arp as he looks to take the next step in his career.

He should remain in Hamburg for a season or two and get better before deciding to move but it would not hurt if we do reach some sort of agreement with Hamburg, for having first rights to sign the rising star.
