Taking a giant leap forward, Tottenham announced yesterday that 18-year-old academy product Brandon Austin has signed a new contract which will keep at the club until 2019.
“We are delighted to announce that Brandon Austin has signed a new contract with the Club until 2019,” Tottenham said in an official statement.
The 18-year-old stopper is considered as one of the hottest properties by the club hierarchy, with him having come up through the ranks after joining from Chelsea in his mid-teens. Furthermore, Austin – who has represented USA at U-18 level, has been a regular fixture for Tottenham’s U-23 side this season and has played 3 of our 4 matches in the UEFA Youth League.

Although he is yet to make a senior appearance, his major breakthrough came when he was named on the bench for the win over Crystal Palace. Following Anthony Georgiou’s commitment to the club until 2020, Austin has become Tottenham’s second youth product to sign a new contract.
Many tip Austin to challenge Hugo Lloris for the first-team spot once he gets a better exposure, but the youngster will have to first fight for a place with Paulo Gazzaniga, who was exceptional against Crystal Palace.
Austin’s capabilities were soon recognised and to add further glory to his fate, he was amongst those 7 players from the academy who were called up to the senior squad for the pre-season tour of the US. With that being done, Tottenham fans have expressed some mixed emotions. While some have shown utter excitement, others wanted some key players, Toby Alderweireld, in the news. Have a look:

I don’t care. Give Toby a new contract.

Some of you are so rude. Yes we want Toby’s contract to be sorted, but have respect for one of our starlets coming through. He must be a prospect to get a mention.

I reckon you’ve got approval from Danny Rose. Don’t want him to see unfamiliar faces at training ground and google about.
