Tottenham Could Include Two Midfielders In A Swap Deal To Land Premier League’s Latest Sensation

Jack Wilshere doesn't believe Tottenham star Richarlison makes the Arsenal starting XI.

Tottenham Hotspur are back in the news, being linked with Watford sensation Richarlison as latest reports talk of a potential approach involving two midfielders of our own.

According to the latest reports from The Evening Standard, the Brazilian sensation is being courted by Spurs who are keen to land their target. We seem ready to use two of their out-of-favour midfielders as makeweights to push the deal.

But, why all this noise around this youngster? It was only in the summer that Richarlison joined Watford from the Brazilian side Fluminense in a £11.5m deal. There were reports even before he joined Watford that some of the top European clubs were interested in pushing for a deal although nothing moved on that front.

Looking at how he started his debut Premier League season, there is no reason to doubt why! The Brazilian has started brilliantly, notching up 4 goals and 2 assists in 11 games so far.

In addition to the stats, his potential was on show for everyone, giving a glimpse of how good a player he can turn out to be. The credit for the early-season form shown by Watford should go to Marco Silva on the whole but one cannot deny Richarlison’s crucial role in it.

Spurs too have joined the list of admirers and if reports are to be believed, we are serious about the approach. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is willing to sanction the sale of two of his midfielders to push for Richarlison’s arrival. The midfielders in question are Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou as Pochettino looks to land the 20-year-old.

N’Koudou has failed to impress Pochettino since joining the club and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise even if he leaves. Onomah, who is the Academy product, is currently impressing on loan at Aston Villa and is touted as the next English international to break into Pochettino’s first-team squad.

Will Pochettino trade Onomah for Richarlison? There is enough evidence to rave about the potential of the Brazilian, but it may be cruel to offload Onomah without giving him a proper chance. As for N’Koudou, there may be very few regrets to see him leave.
